Where Every Experience Begins

Nestled in the beauty of Roatán, Carambola is more than a destination—it’s an invitation to connect with the island in a meaningful way. From handcrafted chocolate to lush tropical gardens and immersive local experiences, every detail reflects our passion for authenticity, hospitality, and unforgettable moments.

THE BEGINNING

Where It All Began

The story of Carambola begins long before a single cacao bean was transformed into chocolate.

In the 1970s, architect Bill Brady arrived in Roatán with a vision to help local communities by building schools and churches. Together with his wife Irma, that vision grew into something even greater—a lifelong commitment to preserving the island’s natural beauty, culture, and biodiversity.

That shared passion became the foundation of what is now Carambola.

A LIVING LEGACY

A Legacy of Conservation

Their dream blossomed into Carambola Botanical Gardens—a living sanctuary where native plants, wildlife, and education came together.

For years, the gardens welcomed visitors from around the world while inspiring environmental awareness and protecting Roatán’s unique ecosystems.

THE CACAO CONNECTION

Where Cacao Became Part of the Story

Among the flourishing gardens stood cacao trees—quietly connecting the family’s conservation mission with one of the world’s most treasured flavors.

Inspired by these trees and the history they carried, a new idea was born: to share cacao not only as a product, but as an experience.
